I just can't watch you in the same appreciation as I used to, Carlos. The first few episodes of season 1 were phenomenal but since you've slid downhill in quality. I found the second half of season 2 reptetive and banal.
Then, after this confrontation with Joe Rogan was made public at the Comedy Store, more and more evidence of your "borrowing" jokes from other comedians is presented and undeniable. There's an old saying in the comedy world that goes all the way back to vaudeville. Some people credit Milton Berle with saying it but then Berle is credited with opriginating every quote from that era.
There is nothing wrong with theft in comedy as long as you obey rule #1. You MUST perform the joke better than the first guy.
Carlos...I have yet to see you perform the jokes in question better than Kinison, Cosby, or George Lopez.
Lose your anger, find your edge again. You had a righteous anger long ago and used it well...now you've become a shill for the lack of intelligent entertainment that proliferates through this country like a leper on a slip-n-slide.

Hey Carlos,
i am watching your show for about 6 month now and i became a big fan of yours. A friend of mine who is stationed here in Germany told me about your show and we watched it a couple of times so now im addicted to it. Unfortunately we dont have your show on german TV so i got me the DVDs from the states and i put them on every now and then.
I also love "No strings attached" when you tell the story about the guy at the airport and how his people want to blow things up.
You should make more fun of them idiots! Oh and of the germans too. Well i am half german but they suck big time. Actually the whole country sucks!
All i wanted to tell you is, you have a great show and i love your sense of humor! Keep up with the good work and i cant wait to see Episode 3!!

Nothing that you have ever said has come close to offending me. The only reaction you can get from me is annoyance. It comes from you sucking off your crowd because they laughed at one of your "smart" jokes that anyone who has graduated Jr. High should be able to understand. It comes from you saying "dee dee dee" over and over and over again while people still laugh at it. If your crowd finds someone running around making a goofy noise for the umpteenth time that funny, the majority of your fans are at least partly retarded. It comes from you acting like you so are just so edgy and earth shattering. I hope for your sake no one notices The Sarah Silverman Program, because she is 10x funnier than you and 100x edgier than you.
Not too long ago I saw Stephen Lynch live. He barely mentioned how edgy he was or whatever. He made jokes about Anne Frank, priests molesting kids, falling in love with a Nazi, rubbing shit on people, retarded kids, mocking Jesus Christ, homeless men sucking dick for cash, and much more. During all of he didn't spend a quarter as much as you do of your show informing the crowd that he is edgy.
I think I've said enough. To review: You rarely make me laugh and never once offended me. You are about as funny as cancer.

The only reason you have your own show is because Chapelle quit and Comedy Central needed someone to keep up with the "edgy, race jokes" but you are absolutely pathetic.
Sometimes, I admit, you have potential to say something somewhat humorous, but your delivery ruins the entire thing.
If you quit wasting your time telling your audience how "edgy" you were, you could tell at least 10 more jokes. And the things you say are not even half as edgy as people that don't spout off about how edgy they are (i.e. Chapelle, David Cross, Sarah Silverman, Stephen Lynch to name a few).
If you are trying to be ironic, then I give you credit for that. I mean, it is funny how you have this gimmick of making fun of stupid people (and act stupid in the process)...but I have yet to meet one of your fans that is above average intelligence.
I hear that you have 17 brothers and sisters. That must have taken a tremendous psychological toll on you. No wonder you try so hard for attention.

Carlos Mencia is NOT funny. When I first saw his Comedy Central Presents half hour I though he was a great, because he said things I'd never heard a comedian say, and he was harsh, truthful, and unapologetic. When Mind of Mencia came out I was a bit let down that he just repeated the same jokes over and over, but I figured he would come up with new material eventually. I was so wrong. Either physically force him to come up with new jokes or get him the hell off comedy central. Also, he was born in Honduras, and grew up in sunny California, so the border crossing mexican jokes have to stop because he does not know shit about that subject.

Sure, Carlos Mencia has lots of stuff to say and jokes about race and stereotypes, and living in L.A. But couldn't he come up with his own things to say? His own jokes?! After his big feud with Joe Rogen, how did he get a third season? Why isn't Comedy Central pulling the plug on this one-act fraud? His jokes are all nauseatingly similar, or just not his. Yeah, he's full of energy and a great angry speaker, but he's plagiarizing the work of other comedians. Bobby Lee, George Lopez, Bill Cosby, and countless others.
Why is this issue not being addressed? I leave it to David Spade and the Showbiz Show. Give us justice!

I have to go against the majority of posts on your blog. Although there may be some of evidence of you "stealing" jokes, those who despise you so much have to dig deep to find their roots. The most recent one you "stole" from Bill Cosby is actually from the Marx Brothers and with the Sam Kinnison (sp?) one, i know that has to be a writer that did it in tribute to him. All of those who created/shared that 'truthful' video and those fell for it are basically the ones joining the Rogan bandwagon. And even if are masses of people who want you dead, hey, people like Paris Hilton and Tom Cruise have a massive backlash on their shoulders at the present time. I doubt you yourself actually read these. You have a lot of fans of your show, you are well liked. But do you think you're respected? Because there is a difference. If you died for whatever reason, I doubt you'll be in the news for more than a few hours, and won't go down as a legend with your style of comedy. Do you ever consider changing it up a bit, so that you gain respect vs temporary fans?? Belushi was known for extreme drug problems, but is very respected......ya know what I mean?

I',m a 14-year-old boy who lives in Bakersfield, California and I just want to say that I think you are a very rare comedian (in a good way). The reason is because a lot of people don't say what they really think. You, on the other hand, aren't afraid of speaking your mind (guess that's why it's called Mind of Mencia). My husband and I have watched your show from the beginning and we absolutely love it. You are so awesome and we love the fact that you tell the absolute honest truth. We really enjoyed your "No Strings Attached" program. We have watched it about 3 times now and we never get tired of the jokes. Please keep up the good work and try for a Season 4. Unfortunately my parents got divorced when I was young so I didn't grow up around my dad and learn much about my mexican background.Everything that I've learned about spanish, I've learned from your show. :) Anyway, I'm married now and my husband says I'm the whitest mexican he has ever met. Hi Carlos, I just got done reading a bunch of interesting things, and some that were incredibly aggravating, so I made a post on my MySpace blog about it and wanted to share this with you, so here it is:
"The immaturity of some people amazes me. Earlier this evening I watched the first episode of Mind of Mencia: Season 3, and at the end of the episode Carlos mentioned his website. So, I go to it and check out his blog. Well, in his blog there are a shit-ton of comments about how Carlos is a "joke-thief" and how he needs to come up with his own material and all of this crap! At first I was like, "What the fuck are these people ranting about, why are they trashing him like this?!" Then there were other comments about this Joe Rogan guy and either how Rogan is better than Carlos, or that Carlos is better than him and all of this shit. So, I investigated... I looked up some history on Carlos, whose name is actually Ned, and looked up this Joe Rogan guy, (I'm sorry, I'd never heard of him before, at least didn't remember his name, shows how significant he was to me, right?!), and found this guy's website. Well, I check out his website, at least his forum board, and see the way he talks about "joke-thieves". Dennis Leary is a joke-thief as well as Carlos. I scratch my head in wonder at how this guy BASHES Carlos! I'm not saying that this isn't true, Carlos may steal other people's jokes, but I've seen a lot of other comedians do the same thing. There is only so much "risky" material nowadays.... everybody kind of steals from everybody, in a sense.... however, if your delivery is different from another comedian, there really shouldn't be a problem, right?! Apparently not. Another thing that Joe Rogan does is tell everyone on his site that Carlos isn't a beaner, that he doesn't know anything about illegal immigration, and that he fakes being Mexican. I do believe that Carlos has stated many times that you don't have to be Mexican to be a beaner, just Hispanic, that he wasn't Mexican, that he was born in Honduras, and that he grew up in East L.A., BEANER FUCKIN' CENTRAL!!!! He may not have PERSONALLY gone over the border, but he did see it A LOT!!!! So, the immature taunting, teasing, name-calling and otherwise childish bullshit that Joe Rogan posts on his forum makes me not want to watch anything he's in more. Even if I didn't LIKE Carlos Mencia, which you all know I do, I still wouldn't want to hear anything that this guy Rogan has to say.
I love Carlos; I love the things he talks about, the way he talks and how he delivers his jokes on his show. He is a very funny man and I would LOVE to meet him in person. I also love how he made fun of us role-playing geeks and nerds! That was awesome!!! LOL
But other than how funny Carlos is, he is also an intelligent and learned man. He quit college to pursue comedy, he knew what he wanted and he went for it... and boy did he get it! LOL
I admire Carlos Mencia, or Ned Mencia, or Ned Holness, or whatever. Whether he was doing comedy or astrophysics, the man is a genius and has no reason to steal other comedian’s material. He has been doing comedy for YEARS!

Just so you know, i am a white, 19 year old college student. i am also a quarter mexican if that effects this message at all. believe me, it it may have some effect. Carlos, being as insightful as you are on all stereotypical aspects of life, i thought you would enjoy or just find this interesting. but check this out: i have been having this reacuring dream for the last few months. it starts out when i pull my truck into a gas station to get some gas. it is a red truck, even though i have a blue car in real life. I reach over to the passenger seat to get some money out of my wallet, and when i sit back up, there is a gun in my face (old school revolver). at the other end is one of the most stereotypical, poor mexican guys you could imagine reaching in my open window. he tells me to get out of the truck and hand over the keys. i say "you messed with the wrong guy." i smash his hand holding up the gun into the steering wheel as it goes off and i roll his arm up in the window. i open the door and stand there with the near incapacitated mexican car-jacker hanging in the door and i deliver a stirring monologue about how he should get a job and whatnot and to never steal from me. i then punch him a couple of times in the side and then smash his head into the window, shattering it instantly. i then throw this bloody mexican out into the parking lot. i grab a baseball bat from the back of my truck and start chasing after him as he gets up and starts running. i have had this same dream a lot lately. any feedback would be appreciated.

Carlos Mencia is neither “edgy” nor "controversial" and the very public lack of respect by a large portion of his peers reflects that. Many comedians have taken old jokes, spiced them up, and resold them as their own. Big deal. That aside, what I hate about you are the following:

I hope some day the lower half of the intelligence curve find a new way to have their 1950's style racist views voiced and you are tossed to the curb like a piece of trash, unwanted and unneeded by those who once loved you.
The fact that your show is watched by such a large group of disillusioned idiots causes my belief in evolution to falter, as it seems the weak are not being eliminated over the years, but sadly are reproducing at exponential rates. At least knowing they are at home watching your show means that for those 30 minutes, they are not breeding. I applaud you for that.

I love your show!And it really makes me laugh 'til I have tears running down my cheeks.But I have a question:like what's up with the arguement with like should they ban "awful" clothing conducts when their is a friend that had their car stolen and they're telling them to pay a fine cause they are showing their undies, and why are they looking down there anyways?!

hey, carlos I love your show....your doing a good job....But you know what really ticks me off? When people dont take there education seriously because...I live in this little hick town where people dont have that much money and dont give a crap about what there life is going to be like after high school.....people party all through high school and dont get a schoalorship for college and they dont have money to pay for it.......so they're probably going to be stuck working at mcdonalds the rest of their life
