Behind the Mind - Punji Returns

Here's a clip from Punji Electronics.

Now that you've seen the sketch let me take you "Behind the Mind" for Punji return.
154626936ti Here is a shot of the stage with the Punji set pre-set.

The two cast members in this clip are both Producer/writers on the show.
154638721ti The manorexia guy was played by Blaine Capatch.
And the elf nerd was played by Chris McGuire.
Originally, Blaine was cast as the elf nerd, and a girl was supposed to play the anorexia part.

154636440tiBut everybody decided the girl was too heavy to read anorexic so they made Blaine do it. Plus he's the only person I've ever met that could wear bike shorts and have them sag. He was also in the original Punji sketch as the voice box guy trying to buy cigarettes.

You might also recognize the creepy guy who wants to spy on chicks.
His name is Thomas Randell, and he has been cast as the "Creepy Guy" in a few of our sketches...Age Police and Office supplies69230161ti_2. 64110730ti_2

During rehearsal the writers sit in the stands and work on material. In the photo, I'm the one sitting on the right side holding a computer.154631192s

Hey Carlos,

Just a quick note on this show. It was a very good show but people who wear Turban are Panjabi, they are not from Bangladesh. India and Bangladesh are two different countries. I can give you plenty of jokes for Bangladeshis but please do not send wrong and confusing geography lessons. Comedy is the way of sending the truth in a way that does not offense people but hit it on the face and that's why we love comedy. Bangladesh might not be well known, corrupted and poor SE Asian country but residences of the country are very proud of their heritage, history of Independence and struggle for the mother tongue (only country in the world) and the day of sacrifice is declared International Mother Language day.

Thanks and regards.

Mencia can lick my Bangladeshi ass. That motherfucker hates all people from the Indian sub-continent. He also hates middle-eastern Muslims. Mencia looks a bit Asian. I think his crack-whore cracker mother fucked a Deshi and that's how he was born. That is why he hates everyone who resembles his daddy.

I used to like him until I saw the episode where he was being all high and mighty about the war in Iraq and how USA took revenge of the killing of 2000 American by taking over 2 countries and killing tens of thousands of people. This is a very bad joke. Shame on Mencia. Shame on Comedy Central for airing this.

Hey Carlos,

I'm not even sure if you check these posts or not but I'm going to write anyway. I find you funny, most of the time. Your sense of comedy is unique, honest, and fearless. But as a viewer, I see that some of your jokes, not all, come from a place of extreme hate. A person can tell when Carlos Mencia hates a particular group of people. Don’t get me wrong, I try to laugh, but those jokes also leave certain uncomfortable sadness. As a Muslim woman, I know that in order to survive in a Post 9/11 America, I need to have a sense of humor, other wise I would begin to believe what the media portrays. But I’ve noticed that when you do middle-eastern jokes, you tend to band all the white, black and Latino populations together, forgetting that there are 7 million muslim Americans today, and only a fraction of those are of middle eastern decent. We come from all over the world, Black, White, Indian, Chinese, Spainish, Latino, Arab, etc. And having been born and raised in America, I feel insulted when someone makes me feel like an outsider in a matter of a few short seconds. I am American, I am Muslim… You make it seem that you can’t be both at the same time…

Anyway God bless,

And I wish you luck in your future endeavors, Inshallah( God willing)

Salam :)

mencia is a joke, he will never be on par with other latin comics such as pablo fransico, george lopez, or andrew kennedy... just stop trying you idiot! you're such a sell out!!! your efforts of trying to kiss the white mans ass is disgustingly transparent... unoriginal dolt... making fun of mentally/physically challenged people or a war torn nation doesn't make you edgy, it makes you a limp dick... man up and come up with some half decent material...

All of a sudden you want to mention the Iraqi kids getting killed and the Afghanistani children crying for his mother in your new material? It's transparent as glass that you hate muslims. You're an ignorant individual and you would be funnier if you had some intelligence. You don't even have your facts right when you try to make fun of us. Joking is one thing but your hate is all too obvious. By the way you clown of the media, muslims are not just middle eastern......we are latino, asian, black, white, you name it. There are approximately 2 billion of us in the world you moron. Go wake up and realize we're not all terrorists because if we were your ignorant ass wouldn't be here.
