Kanye West did not like being called "Theo Huxtable" one bit, and he's
spitting
back at Carlos Mencia -- the guy who slapped him with that
ignominious label.
Mencia did a hilarious spoof of West's smash
"Gold Digger," on his
Comedy Central show, skewering West for
downplaying his suburban,
upper-middle-class background, and likening
him to a Huxtable, whose
mother was an English professor and father a
well-paid photographer.
And now, Kanye's response: On his latest
single, "Can't Tell Me Nothing,"
he disavows any connection to the
Huxtables, rapping, "I ain't one of the Cosby's,
I ain't go to Hillman," referring to the college where one of the Huxtable children
attended in the series.

Another common misconception that everything in Hip Hop including its artist have to be gangster to have any relevance. My advice to pple like Mencia is do ur research. Hip Hop is also about b-boying, djing, graffiti & emceeing, check out events like the yaris vs yaris dj/sneakerhead battle tour that just concluded to find out about the otherside of the culture. I think Mencia is just saying that Kanye is trying to be gansta; you know, trying to be like the nerdy girl at school who thinks becoming the school(and in some cases the town)whore will make her popular and loved by all(at least the boys anyway), is what Kanye is being; he's just trying to fit in, that's all. Or maybe he's(Kanye) just trying not to get too noticed(like that's possible? Everytime he opens his mouth he gets noticed! some good some bad). Or maybe Carlos just chose Kanye to do a spoof on, I mean really how many spoofs of gold digger are out there? Probably a lot. So I think Kanye should just face it; he was one of the lucky ones. He was lucky enough to have the childhood he had unlike most of the rappers out here today. So be proud Kanye, be proud to be a privilaged african american and help other have the life you had/have it will better the community. You're so awesome Theo Huxtable!(OOOPS! I mean Kanye!)

i think mencia here has made a good point in showing how hip-hop artists glorify some parts of the street world that aren't even close to what they are in reality and also how some hip-hop artists try and act like they are all hardcore and grew up in that life when they are just doing it for the money but there are hip-hop artists who dont do this and have real talent

I think Carlos Mencias was just expressing his freedom of speech as any other AMERICAN.The world of hip-hop is now full of lies and misconception.Kanye west is a talented singer however he lacks what real artist have originality. The artist now a day don't have originality they just copy the past artist and call it their own creation.The artist of today have no real talent they are just a pretty face and that is all, if they dint have the looks but just the talent they would be underground.They need to work on their lyrics and other talents. One last word of advice to Kanye stop lying to your self and speak the truth (your record sales will go down but oh well lol)

Face it, Carlos nailed him square, and now Kanye is trying to back-fill. Maybe it isn't the case that "everything in Hip Hop including its artist have to be gangster (sic)," per Jazzy-Kev, but don't pretend to be a gangster when you are not. Best case scenario: you get made fun of by a comedian on a popular show, which raises your profile. Worst case scenario: you get one of your nuts shot off!

Let us all see, Carlos Mancia is just another person reading off anohter persons ideas and holding cards for him to read on the show. Here is a thought, ask Mancia to be true about his show, instead of having someone pull strings for him, run his show and tell him what to do. In fact if you are the producers, here is how to make an idea worth your wild, give your idea to carlos, I am sure he will make it a laugh, especially if its about his own people, the real money makers an d second the other man. The biggest trash I have ever seen on TV. Let Mancia see this. Only he would be true and respond. Trash on TV. Oh yeah, Mancia, let anohter perosn dress you like a total idiot you look fatter everytime I flip the channels. Have another toca, get a hair cut and some better colthing that fit well. Celebrity fit club would look good on you, now that is funny. Mancia you suck and evreyone else, your show gets less than have the laugh without a laugh sign posted up.

Everything that Carlos Mencia has been called out on such as hiding his name and hiding the fact he's from Honduras and not Mexico he has told people on video. The fact that other comedians have been copied is plain stupid. All comedians use other people's work, intended or not. No one has the delivery or timing as Carlos does and that is what made him as successful as he is today. Joe Rogan and all the others harping on Carlos are just cry babies because they haven't succeeded. To make fun of the fact he's fat and his hair is bad is just plain stupid. I'm his age and that's what happens to guys built like us, heck, he's lucky he still has hair. My only complaint about Carlos is that he's vulgar when he doesn't need to be. I think he is beyond that and doesn't have to resort to lewdness and bad langauge to get a laugh

I love how Soulia smooth went ghetto on this forum. Dave Chappelle isn't funny at all, he just makes fun of white people, Carlos makes fun of everyone. I especially love how everyone actually thinks Kanye is a "good" singer, raping isn't even singing, soul, R and B, Pop, and hiphop is singing, raping is just rhyming, and even then he fails horribley at it. I especially love how Kayne came out after Hurricane Katrina that "George Bush hates Black people," wtf?! where do you get that?! because he sent in swat team to prevent gangs from taking over New orleans in time of anarchy?! Nick--no offense, but you are the 1 out of 3 Dee Dee Dee's Carlos so often refers to. Carlos Mencia is hilarious. I've been waiting so long for someone, anyone, to put an end to this politically correct BULLSHIT. Perhaps he is the man for the job.
